Locarno. – Seyfo Center, The Assyrian Genocide Research Center will be holding another commemoration with a monument dedicated to the martyrs of the Assyrian genocide, which will be erected on June 18, 2016, at 11:00 AM, in Parco Della Pace, Locarno Switzerland.
101 black balloons that symbolize the 101 years Anniversary of the Assyrian genocide of 1915, shall be released in their honor. Swiss politicians, as well as representatives of the Assyrian organizations, will hold speeches.
Today we witness again with anguish, a recurrence of those similar horrific events of the past in Iraq and Syria because extremist crimes have been denied and gone unpunished for 101 years. Many Assyrian representatives from the United States, Australia, and Europe will attend the opening ceremony of the Assyrian genocide monument in Locarno.
